Remembrance Day 2009

Our class took part in our Remembrance Day ceremony today.  We researched the flags of countries our parents or ancestors came from and talked about lots of symbols for peace.  Ten members of the class did a dance of the T’ai Chi movement called “White Crane cools His Wings” but we just called it the Crane Dance.  What did you do for Remembrance Day?

Remembrance Day is not somthing to joke about. It is to remember the soldiers that died in the war to give us our freedom, not theirs. It is kind of sad whene you think about it. Gust think about it for a second. The last thing that the soldiers see is war insted of their familys.

Rememberance Day is a day to remember and respect the soldiers who fought for our country and if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have any peace and freedom and none of us would have happiness so that is why we should remember them but if you don’t think that was important then think of this they were the ones who lost there friends and there lives but still only a few of the soldiers survived in the only war they will be in and the last time on earth again so if that doesn’t change you then I don’t know what will.

Rememrance Day is when you have to be serious because the people who wanted to be free and make peace for you died, plus other people lost one of their families.
