Students are to visit the blog site,
http://bookreport.edublogs.org/
Choose one of the titles listed there that you haven’t read. Read it through carefully and think about whether it is a book you’d like to read based on the other grade 5 student’s write-up. Add a comment to that particular write-up stating:
what sounds good about the book,
whether you’ve read other books by the same author,
or a similar theme book by a different author,
if you would recommend them, and
one thing you liked about that student’s book report (a particular phrase, the event he talked about, the way he sounds enthusiastic about the book, etc.)
Then, leave a comment for our post for this assignment saying, if you think reading book reports from other blogs will give you ideas for your own reading and why or why not. (Make your reason “substantive”.)
Tell about your latest cooking or baking experience and/or tell about the variety of foods at the Multi-cultural dinner Thursday night. It is one of the highlights of our school year and the turn-out was great. If you attended, what food did you bring and what new food did you try? Did you do some cooking or baking in our classroom this week? Give us the low-down. Miss M.
Three students have avatars up so far. I challenge the rest of you to have them up before the end of the weekend.
Miss M.

Your mission, should you accept it, is to answer the following questions about Healthy Snack Exchange!
1. What did you learn preparing for it?
2. What was the hardest part about it?
3. What was the easiest part about it?
4. What was the best part about it?
The food self-destructed as soon as you ate it!!
Want to know more about our snack exchange? Our recipes were taken from:

Our class took part in our Remembrance Day ceremony today. We researched the flags of countries our parents or ancestors came from and talked about lots of symbols for peace. Ten members of the class did a dance of the T’ai Chi movement called “White Crane cools His Wings” but we just called it the Crane Dance. What did you do for Remembrance Day?
Now that everyone has voted and the votes are counted, visit Studio 22 Live! and see if it looks the way you thought it would. Are you satisfied with our choice? Leave your comments.

What’s special about birthdays? One of our class members had a birthday this week. He’s having a bowling party. What special things do you do on your birthday?
